Hi, I’m Gabriella.

I am a licensed therapist serving clients in New York and New Jersey who are navigating loss, chronic and acute illness, unhealed trauma, and life transitions.

I have the pleasure of working at Soul Wellness NYC, a therapist collective that supports my work so that I can best support my clients.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Salem State University, where I received a graduate award for my research on embodied therapies for the treatment of trauma. I’ve always been just a little outside the box of my various fields. Instead of studying Theatre for undergrad, I studied Theatre for Social Change. Instead of sticking with my non-profit office job, I side-hustled as a life coach. And instead of becoming a cognitive-behavioral talk therapist, I trained in family systems and EMDR therapy, addressing the most inner facets of wellbeing (like the nervous system) and the most outer (like the family system and broader culture).

I consider myself an activist in the small choices I make each day: how I talk about others, how I talk about myself, how I raise my child, how I interact with my community, and the ideas I teach and pass on. The foundations of my community work come from trainings like Rooted’s Somatic Abolitionism, YES! changemaker retreats, and Avodah’s Justice Fellowship.

I love providing a welcoming, curious, and empathetic ear to my clients. I am particularly excited to offer EMDR therapy, community workshops, and professional development trainings as part of my work.

My Commitments

I am deeply committed to offering client-centered care, where you are at the heart of the healing process.

Cultural humility is essential in my practice. I honor the diverse backgrounds of my clients. I am particularly mindful of disability justice, racial justice, gender diversity, neurodiversity, and body liberation, ensuring that every person feels seen, respected, and valued.

I approach my work with a learner’s mindset, not as an expert but as a partner in your journey. I believe in the importance of ongoing learning, feedback, and growth, and I’m committed to staying curious and adaptable in my work with you.

I am committed to educating other clinicians about weight-inclusive care, disability justice, the ethics of self-care, and social determinants of health, to be part of reducing harm in the therapy industry.

I am committed to helping you expand your understanding, incorporating your own lived experience with new frameworks to allow for new possibilities.
